Undoubtedly part of burnout

I faced death threats for not giving a patient certain medications that they did not need. I’ve seen patients throw their bodily fluids at staff.

We endure verbal abuse daily. There are lots of repeat offenders without improvement and no administrative help.

These types of incidents and the limited responses to them are undoubtedly a big part of emergency physicians' burnout rates.
