Frustrated after boarding three days

A patient became aggressive on his third day of boarding in our ED.

We tried to deescalate the situation several times. He punched holes in the drywall. He made specific, horrible threats to staff. He was frustrated with his situation, and he could have hurt or killed a colleague. We called the police and he was arrested.
