Happens so often, nothing is done

Punched for bringing them apple juice
"I'll shoot everyone here"
Gun in waiting room
We could not get to the patient
They came looking for me with a hatchet
Our safety is in our own hands
Security doesn't want to get involved

My employer did nothing

A nearly endless barrage of abuse
Patients throw printers
Intimidate me while waiting

Nurse knocked out
A brawl ensued

Physical and psychological trauma

Our staff was attacked numerous times this year.

One event in particular left a longtime emergency nurse unable to complete her duties due to physical and psychological trauma. She is no longer working in our emergency department.

I work in a small emergency department. At one point, we were being assaulted on a nightly basis.

A man’s daughter had a fever and he did not like the treatment that I recommended – so he pushed me....

This is an everyday occurrence

I have had guns and knives pulled on staff.

The ACEP offices will be closed for several upcoming holidays
