BASIC FUNCTION

Designs and develops educational and performance improvement products.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Creates engaging and effective learning activities.

  2. Designs and implements project plans for the development of new activities.

  3. Analyzes and optimizes current learning activities.

  4. Creates instructional materials in a variety of formats and forms of media.

  5. Ensures all activities are 508 compliant.

  6. Manages the work of subject-matter experts to develop content according to adult learning principles.

  7. Works with subject-matter experts and leadership staff to identify target audience’s training needs.

  8. Works with leadership staff to develop assessments to measure effectiveness of learning activities.

  9. Assists with scheduling, post-production, and delivery of ACEP webinars.

  10. Assists with the scheduling, post-production, and delivery of ACEP’s growing podcast network.

  11. Supports member services with resolving LMS related questions, issues, etc. in a timely fashion

  12. Ensures activity compliance with ACCME, AMA, and ACEP guidelines.

  13. Remains abreast of changes in e-learning environments and emerging technologies.

  14. Maintains project documentation and other reporting as needed.

  15. Develops and produces other new products as directed.

  16. Provides instructional design support to other staff.

  17. Performs other duties as assigned.

ABEM; accrediting and licensing organizations; chapter leaders and staff; CME providers; Education Steering Committee and subcommittees; College leaders and other members; other association staff; vendors and agents

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or Instructional Technology or 3 years’ experience in instructional design.

  2. Knowledge of best practices for online and mobile learning.

  3. Experience working with subject-matter experts to develop educational content.

  4. Demonstrated experience applying instructional design and adult learning principles.

  5. Ability to organize and create material into effective knowledge assets.

  6. Demonstrated experience with Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate or other authoring tool.

  7. Experience using learning or content management systems.

  8. Knowledge of 508 compliance.

  9. Basic project management and planning skills.

Other Desired Qualifications

  1. Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods.

  2. Teaching experience.

  3. Website content editor experience.

  4. Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
