Award Criteria

The award recognizes one (1) fourth-year EM-bound medical student per medical school who excels in humanism, professionalism, and leadership/service.

Eligibility

Fourth-year medical student who is:

• A current member of ACEP/EMRA at the time of nomination
• In good standing at a US or international allopathic or osteopathic medical school
• Applying for a position in emergency medicine (EM) in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) or the military match

Application Process

• Online application completed by the EM chair, program director, clerkship director, or vice-chair of education
• Description of how the student demonstrates humanism, professionalism, and leadership in medical organizations and the community

Selection Criteria

Humanism/professionalism, leadership in medical organizations and the community

Award

• Certificate
• Recognition in ACEP publications

Application Deadline

April 15

Award Notification

Certificate sent to the institution after application is reviewed
