Since his retirement from full-time corporate duties in October 2017, Greg has continued to work part-time within the physician staffing space by accepting selective consulting assignments. The primary areas of consulting within the emergency medicine specialty are: managed care analysis and negotiations; data collection and analysis; revenue recovery of underpayments and/or denials; and expert witness engagements on behalf of emergency medicine practices and organizations.

Prior to his retirement, Greg managed the Reimbursement and Regulatory Affairs Department, which included managed care contracting, at Reimbursement Technologies, Inc. (RTI). RTI was the primary billing subsidiary of Envision Healthcare (formerly EmCare) and was one of the nation’s largest coding and billing companies for emergency physician groups. For most of Greg’s 23 years at RTI, he was Vice-President of Reimbursement and Regulatory Affairs.

Greg was a founding member of the Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA) and was a continuous board member from its inception to his retirement in Oct. 2017. In 2009, Greg was the recipient of EDPMA’s highest honor, the Founder’s Award. In 2014, Greg was featured by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) as one of five non-clinical professionals who were “unsung heroes of Emergency Medicine,” and whose interviews on the future of emergency medicine were published in one of ACEP’s national publications.

Prior to joining RTI, Greg had 17 years of healthcare finance experience with large medical centers in the Philadelphia area such as the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Crozer-Chester Medical Center. He also worked for several years in the healthcare reimbursement department of a large public accounting firm and was a Medicare Part A auditor of hospital cost reports with the Philadelphia region’s Medicare Contractor.

Besides holding an MBA from Temple University’s Fox School of Business, Greg is a CPA and, for most of his career, maintained the standing of Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA), an advanced status for healthcare financial executives.
