
Dr. Jamie Kuo works in New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University for undergraduate and graduate studies. She then attended medical school at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans and completed her Emergency Medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. After entering the advocacy space, she obtained a Master of Arts in Health Law and Administration from Loyola University.
Dr. Kuo is the President-Elect of Louisiana ACEP and past treasurer/secretary. She is also a state councilor and serves on the State Legislative and Regulatory Committee, recently as a vice-chair. She has served the Louisiana State Medical Society in the House of Delegates, Medico-Legal Interprofessional Committee, and Council on Legislation. She is active with her local medical societies as an at-large Board Member of the Orleans Parish Medical Society and as the inaugural chair of the Advocacy Committee for the Medical Association of Southeast Louisiana.
Dr. Kuo co-founded a nonprofit organization with fellow ACEP member, Dr. Debbie Fletcher, with a primary focus on scope of practice and physician autonomy. The organization collaborates with physicians of all specialties to educate legislators and advocate at the state capitol for patients and physicians.
Honors include the Louisiana ACEP Advocate of the Year, ACEP Council Teamwork Award, MASELA Patient and Physician Advocate Award, and Go Red for Women - Women in STEM honoree.
