Nicholas Vasquez MD, MHSM, FACEP, has been in full-time practice as an emergency physician since 2005. Professionally, he has had many roles, but none as important as seeing patients. He’s been an active member in the medical staff of the multiple hospitals at which he’s worked, as well as serving as Medical Director for three years. He’s also served the emergency medicine community through active membership in ACEP since 2005. He served as Chapter President for Arizona in 2011 and has been a Councillor at every Council meeting since 2005 (except for missing one year).
Recently he served as Chair of the Diversity, Inclusion, and Health Equity Section for ACEP. Prior to that, he was Chair of the Emergency Medicine Practice Management and Health Policy Section. He continues his service on the State Legislative and Regulatory Committee.
Back at home, he and his wife are proud parents to an inquisitive 7th grade girl. His passion and focus have been on trying to make a difference for those who cannot yet do it for themselves. He has served his community as a Board member for the Vitalyst Health Foundation in Phoenix, Arizona, for the last 12 years, serving as Chair between 2020 and 2022. Currently, he has the wonderful opportunity to mentor young medical students interested in leadership and policy.
His interests include Arizona Diamondback baseball, Phoenix Suns basketball, chess, and reading for fun.
