Amy Davis, MD, is a board-certified emergency physician at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, Mississippi, where she was born and raised. She received her MD from the University of Tennessee, College of Health Sciences, and completed her residency in emergency medicine at Palmetto Health Richland, now known as Prisma Health.
She began practicing at Magnolia Regional Health Center in 2003 in the emergency department. Dr. Davis is a founding core faculty member of the rural emergency medicine program at Magnolia, which started in 2020. Managing emergencies in rural areas has unique challenges. She believes it is vital to train physicians who are interested in rural practice to prepare physicians to practice with limited resources. She also believes that all patients, regardless of their zip code, should have access to high quality emergency care, provided by board-certified emergency physicians. Caring for her community is her passion, and she feels rural emergency medicine residency training fits that bill.
Dr. Davis believes community involvement is vital to success in a rural area. She opened the hospital's outpatient COVID treatment facility in 2020 to extend emergency care to the acutely ill when the emergency department is at capacity. Dr. Davis also helped develop a relationship with the emergency medicine residency and area schools to mitigate outbreaks during COVID and keep students in the classroom.
Dr. Davis enjoys cooking and traveling with her family in her free time.
