BASIC FUNCTION

The Sr. Manager, IT Infrastructure Operations will oversee and manage the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability. While leading the team, they will implement disaster recovery and security measures and adopt emerging technologies to support business goals. This role involves optimizing resources, managing vendor relationships, supporting end-users, and maintaining critical systems like cloud platforms, collaboration tools, and network infrastructure. By aligning IT strategies with business priorities, they will ensure seamless operations, enhance productivity, and drive innovation across the organization

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and manage the organization's IT infrastructure and computer systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  2. Develop and recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating business needs, identifying potential issues, and anticipating organizational requirements.

  3. Lead IT staff through effective recruitment, training, coaching, performance appraisals, and clear communication of job expectations.

  4. Drive research and adoption of emerging technologies aligned with organizational goals, strategies, and user needs.

  5. Safeguard organizational assets by implementing robust disaster recovery plans, backup procedures, information security measures, and control frameworks.

  6. Conduct evaluations of hardware and software and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective procurement and seamless integrations.

  7. Deliver exceptional support and service quality to end-users, ensuring their technology needs are met efficiently.

  8. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

IT Infrastructure Team (Help Desk Technician and two contract positions)

ACEP members, committees and chapters as requested

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.

  2. 5–10 years of work experience managing IT infrastructure operations for a mid-size company. Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory role.

  3. Hands-on, in-depth experience in following:

    1. Windows & Mac operating systems.

    2. Managing Carbon Black EDR platform or similar platforms.

    3. Managing Mimecast platform or similar platforms.

    4. Managing Office 365 platform & its applications.

    5. Windows Active Directory & Azure Active Directory services.

    6. Zoom Digital Workplace including Zoom enterprise phone and conference room systems, Slack, SharePoint.

    7. IT Asset management using Intune. Laptop policies, governance, data backup & security.

    8. Azure cloud platform, configurations, and management.

    9. Network design, including wireless LAN. Experience administering Meraki equipment.

    10. Single Sign-on platforms such as Azure, Auth0, Okta.

    11. IT helpdesk management using Jira Service Desk, metrics reporting, SLA tracking.

    12. Supporting IT infrastructure for geographically distributed users and offices.

    13. Audio visual equipment for local/remote meetings & collaboration.

    14. Defining & implementing business continuity plans for “always-on” IT infrastructure.

  4. Self-motivated learner with a passion for staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

  5. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with users and business stakeholders.

  6. Team-oriented with strong verbal and written communication abilities.

  7. Skilled in understanding business priorities & aligning IT strategies to meet organizational goals.

  8. Effective in managing both local and remote resources.

  9. Flexibility to work during weekends or off-hours as needed.
