BASIC FUNCTION

Leads ACEP’s strategic outreach and enterprise sales initiatives to emergency medicine staffing companies and large physician groups. This role focuses on expanding group membership participation, enterprise education sales, accreditation services, and long-term strategic partnerships with physician groups. Develops and manages a national sales pipeline targeting approximately 1,200 emergency medicine staffing organizations, promoting ACEP’s Group Billing program, 100% Club membership model, accreditation programs, and enterprise educational offerings. Serves as the primary relationship director for physician group leadership, including CEOs, CMOs, medical directors, and operations executives, to position ACEP as the professional partner of choice for emergency physician groups and drive adoption and expansion of Group Billing at the enterprise level. In addition to membership growth, this role actively promotes ACEP’s education products, conferences, clinical tools, accreditation programs, and CEDR services to physician groups. Works collaboratively across ACEP departments to develop bundled offerings that increase engagement with ACEP while generating sustainable non-dues revenue. Works closely with the Membership department to coordinate post-sale service delivery and operational support

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Enterprise Physician Group Sales

    1. Lead ACEP’s national outreach strategy targeting emergency medicine staffing companies and physician groups, building and managing a strong enterprise sales pipeline.

    2. Expand participation in ACEP’s Group Billing program and 100% Club membership initiative, working with physician group leadership to increase membership penetration.

    3. Identify and cultivate relationships with key decision makers, including CEOs, CMOs, physician group leaders, medical directors, and operational executives.

    4. Conduct proactive outreach using ACEP’s CRM systems, industry intelligence, conferences, and professional networks to identify new group prospects.

  2. Enterprise Product & Service Sales

    1. Promote ACEP’s portfolio of enterprise professional offerings, including:

      • Group membership and Group Billing programs

      • 100% Club membership participation

      • Enterprise CME and education programs

      • ACEP conferences and educational events

      • Accreditation programs and services

      • Clinical tools and professional resources

      • CEDR services and quality improvement tools

    2. Identify physician groups that may benefit from ACEP accreditation programs and educate them on the operational, quality, and professional benefits of achieving accreditation.

    3. Work collaboratively with ACEP departments to develop and promote bundled enterprise offerings that combine membership, education, accreditation services, and professional resources for physician groups.

  3. Strategic Account Management

    1. Serve as the primary relationship manager for enterprise physician group customers, providing concierge-level service, ensuring strong long-term relationships, and providing strategic advisory support to executive leaders to align ACEP offerings with organizational goals.

    2. Develop long-term strategic partnerships with physician groups to increase engagement with ACEP programs, products, and services.

    3. Works with the Group & Program Engagement Manager to maintain accurate CRM records, track sales pipeline activity, and generate reports on physician group engagement, conversion, and revenue performance.

  4. Sales Strategy & Pipeline Development

    1. Build and maintain a structured enterprise sales pipeline, including prospect identification, outreach campaigns, sales meetings, and account conversion strategies.

    2. Collaborate with ACEP Marketing and Communications & Membership Departments to develop targeted outreach campaigns to physician groups.

    3. Work closely with membership operations and the Group Billing Manager to ensure smooth onboarding and account management for group customers.

  5. Cross-Department Collaboration

    1. Partner with ACEP teams, including Membership, Education and Accreditation, Meetings & Events, Clinical Affairs, and Marketing, to ensure coordinated promotion and delivery of ACEP resources to physician groups.

    2. Provide market intelligence and feedback from physician groups to inform ACEP product development, accreditation services, and enterprise growth initiatives.

  6. Representation & Growth Initiatives

    1. Represent ACEP at relevant conferences, meetings, and industry events to cultivate relationships with physician group leadership.

    2. Support ACEP strategic initiatives related to enterprise growth, accreditation expansion, and physician group engagement.

    3. Performs other duties as assigned.

All ACEP staff, particularly the Membership, Education and Accreditation, Meetings & Events, Clinical Affairs, Marketing and Communications, and Technology and Data teams

External Contacts:

Emergency medicine staffing companies, physician group executives, medical directors, residency program leaders, healthcare organizations, and industry partners

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, healthcare administration, or related field, or comparable record of sales leadership experience.

  2. Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in sales, business development, or enterprise account management.

  3. Demonstrated ability to build and manage enterprise-level customer relationships.

  4. Experience developing and managing sales pipelines and achieving revenue growth targets.

  5. Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with physician leaders and healthcare executives.

  7. Highly autonomous, self-motivated, and results-oriented.

Other Desired Qualifications

  1. Experience working in healthcare associations or physician organizations.

  2. Familiarity with emergency medicine staffing companies or physician group practice structures.

  3. Experience selling professional education, accreditation programs, healthcare services, or enterprise membership programs.

  4. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across departments.

  5. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to represent ACEP effectively with external stakeholders.
