Bio

Steven B. Kailes, MD, MPH, FACEP, is a practicing emergency physician with Emergency Resources Group (ERG), serving the Baptist Health System in Jacksonville, FL. He also serves as Director of Governmental Relations with ERG. A past chair of the ACEP Reimbursement Committee, Dr. Kailes serves as Board Liaison for the State Legislative & Regulatory and Reimbursement Committees. He is also the current President and past chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Florida Chapter of ACEP. He studied at Tufts University School of Medicine, and his postgraduate training was at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, CA. He served 9 years with the US Navy and deployed with the US Marine Corps to Asia and, later, to Al-Anbar Province, Iraq, in 2006-07 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Since leaving the Navy, Dr. Kailes has been a strong advocate for Emergency Medicine on both the state and national levels.
