Emergency medicine leaders are committed to supporting women and families over the course of their careers. A workgroup was created by ACEP and SAEM to develop consensus on best practices for family leave.
After conducting a literature review and evaluation of industry best practices a Delphi process was conducted with leaders in Emergency Medicine across our national organizations and the following list of best practice guidelines was developed.
The intent of these guidelines is to allow all members of the Emergency Medicine community to enjoy fulfilling careers while balancing a family. These guidelines will enable our specialty to maintain a talented workforce, thereby strengthening the field as a whole.
We want to hear all of the voices in our specialty. To that end, we are asking you to voluntarily review these and provide commentary. This is part 2 of the recommendations.
