This 4 day intensive Medical Spanish course teaches the participants straightforward medically oriented grammar structures, which include regular and irregular present and future tenses and imperative (command) forms, as well as the present perfect tense= “Have you ever had…?, and some simple past tense. These structures allow the Health Care Professional to be able to interview patients in Spanish, take a medical history, conduct physical and neurologicial exams, give prescriptions and follow-up instructions as well as intervene with medical emergencies. Develop an awareness and understanding of the Latino culture and how that impacts healthcare decisions.

Our objective is to bridge the language and cultural barrier gap between healthcare providers and Latino (Spanish speaking) patients.
Through teaching medical Spanish and cultural awareness in our courses, we intend to help build rapport between healthcare providers and their patients, promote safe and high-quality patient care, improve patient satisfaction, enhance appropriate utilization of healthcare resources, as well as, increase preventive health activities and compliance.
