Leadership Development Program Application

ACEP is sponsoring a second comprehensive Reimbursement Leadership Development Program (RLDP) in order to identify and train future leaders in the emergency medicine reimbursement leadership roles. Although ACEP has been fortunate to have amazing volunteer members serve in this area for decades, we understand we need to build the bench to ensure we have that same high level of expertise in place in future years.

The program will fund three (3) members to travel and registration costs to the ACEP Reimbursement and Coding conferences, the Leadership and Advocacy Conference, EDPMA’s Solutions Summit, a meeting at the ACEP headquarters to have structured sessions with relevant department staff, and with the intention to include both an AMA CPT and an AMA RUC meeting. This is a serious financial commitment on ACEP’s part but is it also a serious commitment for participants who will spend about 25 days traveling over the 18 months of the program.

At the conclusion of the program, participants will have a thorough understanding of the emergency medicine reimbursement process and be poised to assume leadership positions for both the College and the industry. Graduates of the program will have a skill set that will be valued by groups or employers and be strong candidates for future leadership roles in ACEP’s reimbursement related activities. Personally, they will have a better understanding of the nuances of coding and reimbursement to improve their own earnings and avoid compliance problems.

Implementation Timeline

  • Applications for participation will be released by mid-August 2022.
  • Deadline for application submission is September 8, 2022
  • Selection process by Review Committee will be completed by late September so that participants are notified in time to plan their schedules accordingly.
