Track Your Progress With the PEER EM Entrance Exam

Welcome all interns to Emergency Medicine! Every July, EM interns have a unique opportunity to check their core EM knowledge, assess their strengths and weaknesses, set study plans to become the best emergency physicians, and then watch their progress in realizing their goals.

Everyone starts somewhere, but it’s always encouraging to watch your scores increase over time. The PEER EM Entrance Exam is a 100-question exam curated by our PEER Editors-in-Chief to evaluate your core EM knowledge at the start of residency.

If your program subscribes to PEER for Programs, you’ll automatically have access to this exam, starting July 1. Be sure to check with your residency program administrators to see when you should take it. You can find the PEER EM Entrance Exam within PEER for Physicians in the Study Plan or Exams in the left-hand navigation menu. You can also find it in the ACEP Learn mobile app.

After you take the exam in test mode, where question feedback appears after you submit all answers, you can review and study all feedback and EM infographics until you’ve mastered everything.

If your program doesn’t have a PEER for Programs subscription, your program administrator can still sign up all interns to take the PEER EM Entrance Exam and Review for FREE. Contact peer@acep.org for more information on how to gain access to the exam.

All program administrators will be able to see the exam results via PEER Console Analytics. Scores are reported by graduation year cohort and individual learner.

Assess your readiness today and determine which clinical topics to tackle first on your EM journey! Congratulations to you all on your new adventure.
