Are You Ready for the ABEM In-Training Exam?
The ABEM In-Training Exam (ITE) occurs every February to March. This comprehensive exam contains 225 multiple-choice questions and covers the full scope of the 2022 EM Model.
In recent years, ABEM has updated the style and scope of its board questions, including those on the ITE. PEER mirrors these writing standards, which is why you’ll find that PEER questions are the closest to the real ABEM board exams.
ACEP currently offers EM residents several ways to prepare for the ITE:
- The PEER EM In-Training Sample Exam and Review includes a 50-question sample exam that is available free to everyone.
- The stand-alone version of the PEER Mock EM In-Training Exam and Review is available for purchase on ACEP Learn and includes 225 ITE questions selected by the PEER Editors-in-Chief to match the ABEM exam blueprint. Plus, the PEER Mock In-Training Exam and Review allows you to retake all questions as many times as you want.
- EM residents with access to PEER for Programs can also self-launch the PEER EM Mock In-Training Exam from within PEER for Physicians from the Study Plan or Exams in the left-hand navigation menu. A dynamic version and four curated versions are available within PEER for Physicians.
In addition, program directors who subscribe their residency programs to PEER for Programs can now assign multiple versions of the PEER Mock EM In-Training Exam to those residents who want further opportunities to prepare. Just assign the appropriate exam version from PEER BluePrint Curriculums. Ten versions are available when you create assignments by choosing Create with new Curriculum Tasks; six of these versions are hidden from residents within PEER for Physicians. Residents’ performance can then be tracked via PEER Console Analytics.

If your program does not have access to PEER for Programs, contact us today to get started with a 30-day free trial.
Good luck on the ITE!
