QI Curriculum White Paper-In Progress

A statement from the project leaders: Drs. Gregg Miller and Dan Meyer

“The QIPS section is working to create a QI Curriculum for Emergency Medicine Residency programs.  We surveyed EM residents and CORD faculty on what the key components of a QI curriculum should be, as well as reviewed literature for key publications.  Core concepts identified include frameworks for QIPS such as Lean/Six Sigma, cognitive/diagnostic errors such as anchoring bias, value based purchasing programs such as MIPS, and several more key ideas.  The draft paper is being presented to the ACEP board during the Scientific Assembly, and we will be submitting for publication later this year after their approval.
