Letter from the Chair

Dear QIPS Members,

It is hard to believe it is almost time for the annual QIPS section meeting in October. While this year’s section meeting, like many things in our current lives, will be a bit different in the virtual format, I look forward to the opportunity for the QIPS section to come together, sharing what we have accomplished as a section, highlighting the diverse impact that our members have on their local communities, and learning about tools to maintain quality care for our patients in these challenging times.

I am proud of the leadership of our section who has put in a great amount of effort throughout the year in representing the section. I am also equally excited for the future of QIPS, and the many wonderful ideas to help our section continue to thrive and be of benefit to the membership. As we look towards the future, I urge each of you to consider running for a section leadership position. In addition to myself, any member of the leadership would be more than happy to talk to any individuals looking for more information about any of the positions.

One of the highlights of each section meeting is recognizing the work that a resident has done in the quality arena. This year, we have also started a new section award, the Quality and Safety Service Award, to recognize a post-trainee physician who has made an impact at their site on quality and patient safety. Please consider forwarding the additional nomination information in this newsletter to any colleagues who has done great work, and consider applying yourselves!

I look forward to virtually meeting many of you at our upcoming section meeting on Wednesday October 28th from 1:30pm-3:30pm CST. Mark your calendars!

Regards,
