Diana Biggs, MD
University of Colorado

Born in the mushroom capital of the world (Kennett Square, PA), Diana spent much of her time doing what most good high schoolers do, spending summers at the Jersey Shore. College was filled with kayaking in Lake Champlain and hiking amongst the sugar maples at the University of Vermont (UVM). Here, Diana was active in the UVM Outing Club and developed a love for the outdoors & trip guiding. Graduating with a degree in Environmental Science, she took the next logical step- the MCAT. The year between undergraduate and medical school was spent as a medical scribe in Minneapolis, followed by a few months traveling in Southeast Asia. The following fall she started medical school at the University of Arizona- Tucson. After four years of falling in love with desert trails and the sweet aroma of the post-monsoon creosote bush, she started Emergency Medicine residency at Maine Medical Center. Here, most free time was spent biking and snowboarding with a bit of climbing and surfing on the side. Interests include expedition medicine, outdoor education, environmental medicine, pre-hospital medicine, mentorship and sleeping under the stars.
