David Yamane, MD, has served as a section editor for PEERprep for Physicians and PEERprep for Programs since 2021. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine at George Washington University in Washington, DC. Dr. Yamane earned his doctor of medicine degree from the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. Dr. Yamane completed his residency at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and he completed a critical care fellowship at George Washington University. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Yamane stayed on as faculty at George Washington University, where he serves as the director of critical care research for the Division of Critical Care and the chief of the critical care section in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He has special interests in point-of-care ultrasound, resuscitation, and ECMO.
