W. “Gannon” Sungar, DO

Senior Module Editor, PEERcert+ Abdominopelvic

W. “Gannon” Sungar, DO, has served as the senior module editor for PEERcert+ Abdominopelvic since 2020. Dr. Sungar is an associate program director for the Denver Health Residency in Emergency Medicine, a staff physician at the Denver Health Medical Center, and an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Sungar earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in California, and he completed his residency at Denver Health, where he served as chief resident.

Dr. Sungar has written numerous textbook chapters, published manuscripts in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine and AEM Education and Training, and spoken nationally on both clinical and educational topics at ACEP’s annual meetings. Dr. Sungar was awarded the 2021 Faculty Teaching Award from the Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine (CORD). His other interests include curriculum development, residency recruitment, and program administration.
