Jacob Stelter, MD, CAQ-SM

Section Editor, PEERprep for Physicians and PEERprep for Programs

Jacob Stelter, MD, CAQ-SM, has served as a section editor for PEERprep for Physicians and PEERprep for Programs since 2021 and as an item author and item editor for PEER (Physician's Evaluation and Educational Review in Emergency Medicine) since 2020. Dr. Stelter is currently a faculty member in emergency medicine and sports medicine at NorthShore University HealthSystem, and he is a clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He previously served as an instructor of clinical emergency medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Stelter earned his doctor of medicine degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Stelter completed his residency at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and he completed the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine.

In addition to PEER, Dr. Stelter has authored publications in the Emergency Medicine Clinics of North America and Simon’s Emergency Orthopedics. He has a particular interest in orthopedics, sports medicine, concussion or head injury emergency care, and musculoskeletal ultrasounds. He has also given multiple presentations and facilitated skills workshops at the annual meeting of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Stelter is a medical committee member and ICU medical tent lead physician at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. He has also served as a medical education coordinator and instructor for the Chicago Police Department Special Weapons and Tactics team. Dr. Stelter was the recipient of the Congressional Award Gold Medal.
