Javier Rosario, MD, FACEP

Section Editor, PEERcert+ Advanced Ultrasound

Javier Rosario, MD, FACEP, has served as a section editor for PEERcert+ Advanced Ultrasound for the Focused Practice Designation in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (AEMUS) since 2021. Dr. Rosario is currently the director of emergency ultrasound and the division of ultrasound at the University of Central Florida (UCF)/Osceola Regional Medical Center, and he is a core faculty member of the UCF College of Medicine/HCA GME Consortium Emergency Medicine Program of Greater Orlando. Dr. Rosario is an affiliate assistant professor in the department of emergency medicine at the UCF College of Medicine, where he also serves as the director of ultrasound education. Dr. Rosario earned his doctor of medicine degree from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. He completed his residency training with the University of Puerto Rico and his emergency ultrasound fellowship at the AdventHealth East Orlando Emergency Ultrasound Program.

In addition to PEER, Dr. Rosario has also contributed as an editor for the ACEP Ultrasound Quiz Bank, a cochair of the ACEP Ultrasound Section’s Ultrasound Simulation subcommittee, as secretary of the ACEP Emergency Ultrasound (EUS) section, and an editor for the ACEP EUS newsletter. Dr. Rosario’s areas of interest include diversity, equity, and inclusion; medical education; procedural ultrasound; and critical care medicine.
