Hans Roberts House, MD, DTMH, FACEP, has served as a senior content editor for Physician’s Evaluation and Educational Review in Emergency Medicine (PEER) since 2019 and as a content contributor on the Editorial Board since 2006. Dr. House is currently a professor of emergency medicine and Vice Chair for Education at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He earned his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in 1997 and completed a dual residency in internal medicine and emergency medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2002. He has a special interest in tropical and emerging infectious diseases, and he obtained a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the London School of Tropical Medicine in 2001. Dr. House was a member of the ACEP Board of Directors from 2011 to 2017 and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Emergency Medicine Foundation from 2015 to 2018. In addition to his teaching roles and patient-care duties at the University of Iowa, Dr. House is involved with the arts in his local community, serving on the Board of Directors of FilmScene, a nonprofit art-house cinema.
