Joshua Guttman, MD, FACEP, FPD-AEMUS, has served as a section editor for PEERcert+ Advanced Ultrasound for the Focused Practice Designation (FPD) in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (AEMUS) since 2025. Dr. Guttman is currently an associate professor of emergency medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, where he previously served as the emergency medicine ultrasound fellowship director. Dr. Guttman earned his doctor of medicine degree and completed his residency at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He completed his advanced emergency medicine ultrasound fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, New York.
Dr. Guttman is currently the chair of the ACEP Emergency Ultrasound Section Coding and Reimbursement Subcommittee, and he is also the chair of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine’s Emergency Ultrasound Section. Dr. Guttman recently completed his tenure as a board member on the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Accreditation Council (EUFAC). Dr. Guttman has authored many textbook chapters in emergency ultrasound and emergency medicine, and he has lectured at national and international conferences. Dr. Guttman has expertise in point-of-care ultrasound.
