Alyrene Dorey, MD

Alyrene Dorey, MD, has served as a section editor for PEERprep for Physicians and PEERprep for Programs since 2021. She is currently an assistant professor in the department of emergency medicine at the University of Utah and an assistant medical director at the Utah Poison Control Center. Dr. Dorey earned her doctor of medicine degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She completed her emergency medicine residency and medical toxicology fellowship at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Dorey is particularly interested in toxicology, addiction medicine, and medical education.

In addition to PEER, Dr. Dorey has authored publications in Behavioral Neuroscience; the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine; Beta-Blockers: Physiological, Pharmacological and Therapeutic Implication; Military Medicine; Air Medical Journal; EMRAP’s CorePendium; and Pediatrics. She has also given multiple presentations at annual meetings of the American College of Medical Toxicology and the North American Congress of Clinical Toxicology. Dr. Dorey is currently a member of ACEP, the American College of Clinical Toxicology, and the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology.
