David Meguerdichian

David Meguerdichian is a board-certified emergency physician and fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He graduated from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Boston Medical Center, where he served as chief resident.
He previously served as a faculty member at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where his academic focus centered on simulation-based education, procedural training, and the evaluation of non-technical skills in emergency care. Dr. Meguerdichian developed and directed the emergency medicine residents' procedural curriculum at the STRATUS Center for Medical Simulation and played a key role in regional and national educational initiatives for Harvard Medical School.
His scholarly work has been recognized through multiple awards, including the Outstanding Faculty Educator Award from the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency (HAEMR), the Esther B. Kahn Young Investigator Award, and the STRATUS Faculty Simulation Educator of the Year Award. He was also selected as a fellow of the Harvard Medical School Academy Fellowship in Medical Education and received the Eleanor and Miles Shore Fellowship for his research on non-technical skill assessment in emergency physicians.
In leadership, Dr. Meguerdichian served as the Director of Observation Medicine at both Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. He led numerous initiatives to expand and optimize observation services, establish clinical protocols, and reduce short-stay admissions. He also served as the Course Director for Harvard Medical School’s Transition to the Principal Clinical Experience course, guiding the development of curricula that prepared students for clinical rotations.
In 2024, he was appointed Clinical Director for Emergency Services for Mass General Brigham (MGB) Healthcare at Home. In this role, he oversaw the strategic expansion of in-home emergency care across the health system, developed pilot programs to reduce ED utilization, and led a multidisciplinary team of emergency physicians and triage nurses.
In 2025, Dr. Meguerdichian accepted a position as the Director of Emergency Medicine Network Development for the Beth Israel Lahey Hospital and Medical Center—a teaching hospital for the UMass Chan School of Medicine. In this role, he is working to expand and optimize emergency medicine services across the Lahey system through work in observation medicine, community medicine, urgent care and telehealth services.
