Rob Ferre, MD
Dr. Ferre is a board-certified emergency physician and national leader in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS). At the Indiana University School of Medicine, he serves as Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and Vice Chair of Innovation, overseeing strategic initiatives for the Simulation, Toxicology, EMS, and POCUS divisions. Concurrently, as the System-wide POCUS Medical Director for Indiana University Health, he directs clinical standards and encounter-based imaging workflows across a 16-hospital network.
Recent former chair of the ACEP Encounter Based Workflow Workgroup, partnering with IHE to create a profile for POCUS. Bridging the gap between enterprise technology and clinical practice, Dr. Ferre also operationalized the world's largest deployment of handheld POCUS devices, successfully integrating 700 probes across seven academic departments.
