The State of EM Practice and the Focus of ACEP
This session will delve into the most current challenges and opportunities in emergency care - is The Pitt real life? Conference attendees will work to take the insights shared in this session and review how through the power of collaboration we can enhance patient outcomes in the Emergency Department. Leveraging data from the Emergency Medicine Data Institute (EMDI), ACEP survey results, and other contemporary datasets, ACEP leaders will present a comprehensive overview of membership insights, practice and treatment trends, and critical issues facing the field.

Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF): Your Partner in Research
Learn about current research studies and how to work with the Emergency Medicine Foundation and ACEP to conduct valuable research. An overview of EMF Directed Research Grants will be presented. Hear from an APC member on their work with EMF and ACEP.

Hot Topic! Legislative and Advocacy Update
This session will discuss the current climate on the Legislative and Regulatory front. The presenters will discuss hot topic issues on the Hill, the RAND Report as well as how we can all work to further the mission of Emergency Medicine.

1. Artificial Intelligence in EM
EM and AI: Saving Lives or Just a Conference Topic. Let’s skip the basics and get to brass tacks. We’ll talk about how AI is being used in the emergency department and show you how ACEP is transforming our clinical resources to meet today’s changing environment.
2. Inside the Numbers: The RAND Report’s Impact on the ED Landscape
The RAND Report provides a deep dive into the financial and operational pressures facing emergency physicians across the U.S., revealing how declining payments, rising acuity, and expanding responsibilities threaten their long-term practice. The session highlights RAND’s proposed tiered payment model and urgent policy recommendations to stabilize and strengthen EDs as critical healthcare safety nets.
3. Real Life of an Emergency Physician: Diverse Approaches in Varied Settings
Join our panel of emergency medicine leaders as they discuss strategies for addressing common ED presentations in different communities. Learn how practice type, institutional resources, and other factors influence their approaches in patient care.
