BASIC FUNCTION

Executes strategic, integrated marketing campaigns under the direction of the Marketing and Communication teams. Works closely with designers, internal customers, affiliates, and technology services to ensure campaigns align with ACEP’s strategic plan. Assists in promoting educational products, meetings, and the benefits of membership through several marketing channels, including but not limited to direct mail, email, print, website, and social media advertising. Serves as a marketing resource for the Emergency Medicine Foundation and the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants. Assists staff and member leadership to increase awareness of emergency medicine’s vital role in our health care system.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate and collaborate with ACEP staff teams to understand purpose and goals for a variety of ACEP products, meetings, resources, tools, events, programs, etc. Translate those needs to the Communications Strategy team for integration into ACEP’s content strategy.

  2. Contribute to the Marketing team’s comprehensive, integrated marketing plans to promote and effectively target sales for ACEP’s products, membership, meetings, and more.

  3. Assists with the production and distribution of direct mail and email, under supervision of the Marketing Director, to grow sales of ACEP products, increase attendance at ACEP educational meetings, grow membership and more.

  4. Collaborate with the Communications team to grow sales and increase awareness of ACEP related websites, social media advertising and external advertising to targeted audiences.

  5. Assist in the marketing of affinity partner resources, ensuring that contract deliverables are fulfilled, and metrics are reported.

  6. Work with various staff members and the Marketing and Communications teams to plan for and occasionally represent ACEP at exhibit spaces.

  7. Work with Director of Communication Analytics to gather weekly marketing campaign statistics and sales, and serve as the liaison to translate those for various ACEP staff. Provide staff teams with analysis of the effectiveness of promotions and recommended suggestions from the Communications Strategy team to adjust campaigns accordingly based on user data, feedback, and results.

  8. Work with Marketing Director to monitor budgets for areas of responsibility; ensure contractors and vendors are paid promptly, cultivate relationships with current contractors and vendors and search for new freelance designers, content developers and printers as needed.

  9. Collaborate with Corporate Development, EMF, CEDR and other ACEP departments to strengthen communications and marketing efforts. Suggest marketing guidance when needed.

  10. Provide marketing assistance for SEMPA’s annual meeting.

  11. Remain knowledgeable about new products, services, events and tools available to the emergency medicine specialty. Suggest trends in emergency medicine market and monitor competitors.

  12. Attend education and/or business conferences as assigned.

  13. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or equivalent related experience.

  2. One to three years’ experience in marketing, preferably in health care education, events, or association marketing.

  3. One to three years’ experience in direct mail marketing, digital marketing, and marketing analytics.

  4. Experience balancing and monitoring project budgets.

  5. Extensive use of Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Web applications.

  6. CRM experience, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics.

  7. Experience building segmented marketing lists and designing marketing emails.

  8. Experience working with a team to build marketing campaigns and strategy.

  1. Publishing, advertising, customer service, or retail management experience.

  2. Association management experience.

  3. SEO/SEM and Google Analytics experience.

  4. Web content editing experience.

  5. Self-starter, able to make independent decision.

  6. Service oriented. 

  7. Well organized.

  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
