BASIC FUNCTION |
Assist the Senior Director of EMS, Disaster Medicine, and Accreditation in monitoring and analyzing the EMS and disaster environment for policy and program development; make recommendations to ensure that the College is appropriately positioned on EMS and disaster-related issues; assist in the identification, application, and implementation of department-related grants and contracts; manage grant activity; and assist emergency physicians and chapters with the federal, national, and state EMS and disaster aspects of their practice |
Monitor, analyze, and make recommendations to the ACEP President, Board, and senior staff regarding issues and developments in EMS and disaster medicine, including policy, standards, legislation, liability, and education.
Assist in developing concepts and proposals for EMS and disaster-related grants and contracts. Manage the activities of stakeholder organizations and subject-matter experts (SME's) regarding the development and implementation of grant-related activities. Assist in budget development and monitoring expenditures regarding grants.
Assist with the management and implementation of the National EMS Week project including items such as project development and distribution, budgeting, project promotion activities, and coordination with EMS stakeholder organizations and federal/state partner agencies. Assist the Corporate Development Department with items such as identifying and securing corporate sponsors for National EMS Week.
Develop recommendations for the ACEP President and Board regarding liaison appointments and high-level requests by other stakeholder organizations and federal government entities.
Conduct independent research and respond to inquiries on EMS and Disaster Medicine from members, chapters, other EMS and Disaster stakeholder organizations, partners, and the public.
Provide professional and staff support for committees, sections, and task forces. Assist committee members in the development of policy statements and other assigned projects, including providing specific content input. Assist section leaders and members in the development of section projects and provide content expertise.
Work independently with appropriate staff to identify topics and develop materials for meetings, publications, and other products and services pertaining to EMS and disaster medicine.
Assist appropriate staff with the development and implementation of market research and marketing plans to promote College products and services to the EMS and disaster medicine community.
Assist with the development of the EMS and Disaster Medicine Budget.
Assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of EMS and disaster-related courses within ACEP.
Attend business and educational meetings as assigned.
Represent the College's best interest by exhibiting at EMS and Disaster Medicine conferences as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Associate's degree, preferably in EMS, Disaster Preparedness, Emergency Management, Healthcare, or Business Administration, or equivalent related experience in lieu of an Associate's degree.
Experience in project or program administration, preferably in EMS, Disaster Preparedness and Response, or another healthcare-related field.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including experience in public speaking.
Strong organizational skills with managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Understanding of the basic principles of EMS and Disaster.
Proficiency and enhanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite, and other programs for the utilization of program and project administration and management such as Monday, Dropbox, and Sharepoint.
Knowledge of the broad range of EMS and Disaster stakeholders at the national level and federal level.
Broad understanding of prehospital care and disaster medicine and its relationship to emergency physicians.
Ability to work independently and on high-performing teams.
Ability to perform well with change management and in high pace environments.
