From the Chair

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

With summer rapidly coming to an end, football season and lots of other fall sports are kicking into full gear.  In addition, it is time to gear up for interview season for sports medicine fellowships. Emergency sports physicians are busy covering fall sports, new emergency sports fellows are hitting the ground running, and lots of projects new and old are on the horizon. This is an incredibly exciting and fun time of the year for emergency sports physicians.  
 
ACEP18 has several orthopedic and sports medicine lectures and hands on skills labs that you do not want to miss! Hopefully you can take advantage of many of these course offerings (see the included list of sports medicine related topics below) and join us for the Sports Section meeting on Wednesday, 10/3 at 9:30 am.  In addition, please join us for our first ever 5k Fun Run. Our sports medicine section is hosting this Fun Run and will meet in front of the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel on Wednesday 10/3 at 7am.  This is a great opportunity for networking. The first 100 people to arrive will get a free T-shirt with our section’s logo on it! Please see flyer on the next page for more details.
