James J. Augustine, MD, FACEP Emergency physician, and a member of the Board of Directors of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He serves as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Jim is the Chair of the National Clinical Governance Board for U.S. Acute Care Solutions, in Canton, Ohio. Dr Augustine served as Chair for The Joint Commission Hospital Professional Technical Advisory Committee, and on the Board of Commissioners. Kevin M. Klauer, DO, EJD, FACEP Dr. Klauer is the Chief Medical Officer, Emergency Medicine, Chief Risk Officer and Executive Director of the Patient Safety Organization for TeamHealth. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Klauer serves as the Medical Editor-in-Chief for ACEP Now, ACEP's monthly publication, and as former Editor-in-Chief for Emergency Physicians Monthly publication. He is the Co-Author of two risk management books: Emergency Medicine Bouncebacks: Medical and Legal and Risk Management and the Emergency Department: Executive Leadership for Protecting Patients and Hospitals. He was, Teaching Faculty Award in 2001 and the Emergency Medicine Resident’s Association Robert Dougherty ACEP/Emergency Medicine Foundation Teaching Fellowship. In 2014, he was the recognized by the Ohio Chapter of ACEP with the Bill Hall Award for service. He is also the 2015-16 ACEP Outstanding Speaker of the Year. Susan Nedza, MD, MBA, FACEP Susan Nedza, MD serves as the CMIO and Senior Vice President of Clinical Outcomes Management at MPA Healthcare Solutions (MPA). MPA is an analytic health care consultancy that specializes in improving outcomes for patients, physicians, providers, and payers by combining payment and quality data to inform financial strategies and care processes. Dr. Nedza leads the firm’s work in the areas of clinical quality assessment and improvement, bundled payments, and comparative effectiveness.

Prior to joining MPA, Dr. Nedza served as the Chief Medical Officer at AIM Specialty Health, a subsidiary of Anthem, where she led the development and deployment of evidence-based clinical algorithms that were utilized to manage appropriate utilization of advanced imaging, cardiology, sleep management and oncology services for over 30 health plans and impacted over five million patients.

Dr. Nedza is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University. She has served as invited faculty at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, the master's program for Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety, and in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Her research includes completed work on behalf of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation studying the role professional organizations play in helping support physician adoption of health information technology.

Dr. Nedza has served as a member of panels at the Institute of Medicine, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, The Joint Commission and participated in the S&I framework activities at the Office of the National Coordinator. She has given numerous national and international lectures on health policy and quality and has published a number of peer-reviewed articles as well as authored textbook chapters in the area of quality and patient safety.

Dr. Nedza is board-certified in emergency medicine and clinical informatics. She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Gannon University and her doctorate from Loyola-Stritch School of Medicine. She also completed the Executive Master's Program at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Dr. Nedza’ s broad experience as a board-certified emergency medicine specialist, a Chief Medical Officer at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Senior Executive at the American Medical Association (AMA), and as a Health Information Technology Executive has given her a unique vantage point of the confluence of clinical care, payment reform, clinical informatics and health care policy.

 Rebecca B. Parker, MD, FACEP Rebecca Parker, MD, FACEP began her term as ACEP President this October at ACEP16 in Las Vegas. Dr. Parker is a practicing attending emergency physician at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park Illinois. She serves as senior vice president of practice and payment integration for Envision Healthcare, and executive vice president for leadership development and education for EmCare Inc. Dr. Parker is also president of Team Parker LLC, a consulting group, and serves as clinical assistant professor at the Texas Tech El Paso department of emergency medicine.

Dr. Parker has served in numerous ACEP leadership positions over her 20 years of membership including Chair of the ACEP Board of Directors, chair of the ACEP’s formidable Coding and Nomenclature Advisory Committee, section chair of the Section of Young Physicians and as a member of the Finance Committee. She has also been a leader in the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians, serving as president elect, secretary/treasurer and Chair of the Educational Meetings Committee. She also served on the board of directors and as chair of the education committee for the Texas College of Emergency Physicians.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Dr. Parker brings many years of management experience in urban, suburban, government and academic practice including spending two years as core faculty, quality director and ED Medical Director at Texas Tech. Dr. Parker understands the challenges in the private and academic setting.

Dr. Parker has received awards for her leadership roles, most recently the Bill B. Smiley Meritorious Service Award from the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians for significant contribution to emergency medicine in Illinois, their highest honor. She also received the prestigious AMA Foundation Leadership Award and the AMA’s Women’s Physician Congress Mentor Award.
