Aaron Schneir, MD, FACEP, FACMT, has served as a senior content editor for Physician’s Evaluation and Educational Review in Emergency Medicine (PEER) since 2019 and as a content contributor on the Editorial Board since 2001. Dr. Schneir is a professor of clinical medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine at University of California San Diego Health. He earned his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles and completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of California Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento, where he also served as chief resident. In 2002, Dr. Schneir completed the Medical Toxicology Fellowship at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. He is board certified in and practices both emergency medicine and medical toxicology. Since 2006, he has been the director of medical toxicology student and resident education at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Schneir has published articles on a variety of topics and is the primary investigator in San Diego for an ongoing nationwide surveillance study, titled P-SCAN, on novel psychoactive substances. Dr. Schneir has been selected multiple times by his colleagues as one of San Diego’s Top Doctors. He has a passion for creating and giving lectures in the field of emergency medicine and is a program coordinator and lecturer for Northwest Seminars.
