Heather Rozzi, MD, FACEP

Heather Rozzi, MD, FACEP, has served as a senior content editor for PEERprep for Physicians and PEERprep for Programs since 2021 and as an item author and item editor for PEER (Physician's Evaluation and Educational Review in Emergency Medicine) since 2020. Dr. Rozzi is currently an attending physician and a core faculty member at WellSpan York Hospital. She is also an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and an adjunct clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Rozzi also serves as medical director for the WellSpan York Hospital’s Forensic Examiner Team, York County Children’s Advocacy Center, and Adams County Children’s Advocacy Center. Dr. Rozzi earned her doctor of medicine degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, and she completed her emergency medicine residency at WellSpan York Hospital and Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, where she also served as chief resident in 2004.

Dr. Rozzi has a clinical interest in forensic medicine, intimate partner violence, child abuse, sexual assault, elder mistreatment, and human trafficking. She has received many ACEP Section Grants since 2010, which she has used to develop educational curriculum on clinical forensic medicine as well as handbooks on evaluating and managing victims of sexual assault, sexual abuse, and intimate partner violence. In addition to PEER, Dr. Rozzi has authored several publications that have been included in ACEP NOW, Critical Decisions in Emergency Medicine, EMRA, and Critical Care Nursing Quarterly, among others. Dr. Rozzi has served as councilor, secretary, vice chair, and chair of the Forensic Section of ACEP. She is also involved with Emergency Medicine Basic Research (EMBRS), ACEP, the Child Abuse Medical Preceptorship, and the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
