James L. Shoemaker, Jr., MD, FACEP is an attending physician, full partner, and Indiana Advocacy Team Leader with Vituity. Dr. Shoemaker was an ACEP David McKenzie Reimbursement and Leadership Development Fellow and currently represents ACEP as the alternate delegate to the American Medical Association’s Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC). He serves on the ACEP Board of Directors, where he has also held the roles of Treasurer and Vice President of Membership.  He is intimately involved in Emergency Medicine Advocacy and Reimbursement issues impacting all Emergency Medicine colleagues.

He is the co-creator and co-director of the ACEP/EMBC Independent Emergency Medicine Group Master Class and serves as an Emergency Medicine Strategic Advisor for Ventra Health.

Dr. Shoemaker earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies.
