Gillian Schmitz

MD, FACEP

Dr. Schmitz is a Professor at the Uniformed Services University and the Vice Chair of Education at the Navy Medical Center in San Diego, Calif. She served as a board member and Past President of ACEP.

Dr. Schmitz obtained her medical degree from the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and completed her emergency medicine residency at the University of North Carolina. 

She has had an extensive career and has practiced emergency medicine across the country. She brings over 20 years of clinical experience in urban, rural, military, and academic practice settings. She is a nationally recognized researcher, speaker, and educator.
