Clinical Executive Consultant for Sound Emergency Medicine
Dr. Proctor is a diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, with sub-board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine for the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. He is a member of the American Medical Association Reimbursement Update Committee (RUC), chair of the RUC Relativity Assessment Workgroup, and formerly a member of the Joint Commission Ambulatory Accreditation Professional Technical Advisory Committee.
Dr. Proctor has held numerous leadership and educational roles with prestigious health care organizations, overseeing operations of more than 160 emergency departments, freestanding EDs, urgent care centers, and retail clinics. Dr. Proctor is author of numerous book chapters, white papers, and peer-reviewed journal articles and is section editor, Emergency Department Operations section for the textbook, Emergency Department Management by Strauss and Mayer, McGraw-Hill Education, Inc., 2014, 2021.
