Really? Summer is over? October is nearly here? I feel like I just got started!
I imagine we all feel like we can’t tell where the time goes, but for me this year was way outside the norm. (Note to self - Don’t take a new position, drive cross country with wife and dogs and be section chair all in the same year.) Seriously, serving as chair has been an incredibly rewarding experience and I want to thank the section for an amazing opportunity. I look forward to seeing many of you at the scientific assembly. We are ironing out the details of the agenda and I think it will be a nice balance of important and informative updates, education and fruitful discussion. Following the main meeting there will be two breakout sessions: the ACGME Discussion and a TEE Panel Discussion on Emergency TEE Policy and Practice. Further details to come. In the meantime, if you haven’t already, please feel free to join the ongoing forum discussion on ACGME vs DFP vs Alternative/Neither Pathways for Ultrasound Fellowship. We hope you will share your opinion, questions, concerns or thoughts with us. Additionally, please vote for your next chair-elect and secretary/newsletter editor. Look for the email to vote soon!
See you all in DC!
