Major Points Discussed

It was announced that Dr. Michael Stone won the National Faculty Teaching Award. Congratulations. Nominees for the National Faculty Teaching Award are solicited in the spring and appropriate candidates are encouraged to apply.

The Ultrasound Newsletter received the Outstanding Section Newsletter Award of Distinction. The Clinical Ultrasound Accreditation Program (CUAP) development team received certificates of appreciation for their work on CUAP.

There was a brief report on the status of the CUAP. This program accredits clinical ultrasound programs that meet the standards contained in the Emergency Ultrasound Guidelines as approved in 2008. Accredited programs include:

It was announced that the Society of Clinical Ultrasound Fellowships (SCUF) meeting will be held in Philadelphia on April 15-16, 2016.

The group voted to adopt the bylaws change which permits the election of a fellow to the list of section officers.

Dr. Jaquis reported that there are over 16,000 ACEP members involved in ACEP sections. He thanked the section for all of their work and encouraged the section to follow him on Twitter @BillJaquis.

Dr. Jill Baren, ABEM Board member, gave a presentation on CUTF and the subspecialty.

Dr. Andrew Liteplo presented updates from the Academy of Emergency Ultrasound (AEUS) of SAEM.
