Leader Visit Program

The Chapter Leader Visit Program was established by the Board of Directors to increase communication and interaction between national ACEP and its 53 chapters. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for chapter leaders and members and national leaders to interact and discuss issues of importance to both. The program has a 2-year rotation schedule to ensure that each chapter has a visit from a leader at least once every other year at no expense to the chapter. A schedule is sent out at the beginning of each fiscal year so each chapter will know when it is the year for its leader visit. The fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30.

For the Chapter Leader Visit Program, only current members of the Board of Directors (this includes the officers) and the Council Speaker and Vice-Speaker are eligible to make the visits to chapters. They must provide an update to the chapter about national ACEP activities and issues, as part of their visit to the chapter. The leaders may also agree to speak on an educational topic as part of the visit. There is a list of topics that is sent to each chapter on an annual basis.

The chapter president or chapter executive director may request the leader visit by contacting the Chapter Services Manager. There is a brief request form to complete and return. A chapter may also request a leader visit in its "off" year at the chapter's expense.

Requests should be submitted as early as possible and at least 2 months prior to the meeting date in order to ensure leader availability and to avoid high airfare. Requests received too close to the meeting will not be considered.
