Leading Emergency Medical Researchers to Share Key Findings at the ACEP21 Research Forum

BOSTON, Mass.—The top minds in emergency medicine will be convening to share the latest data at the Research Forum during ACEP21, the world’s largest emergency medicine conference, hosted by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), Oct. 25-28, 2021.

“The Research Forum is an unparalleled opportunity to hear about new findings that could answer some of medicine’s biggest questions,” said Anthony Lagina, MD, FACEP, an emergency physician in Michigan and 2021 Research Forum chair. “The brightest minds from every part of emergency medicine will be connecting to discuss advances in the specialty and the practical applications for new data in the community and at the bedside.”

Some of the most eagerly anticipated research will examine advances in treatment approaches for opioid use disorder, stroke protocol, telehealth delivery of emergency care services, violence in the emergency department, mental health emergencies, the efficacy of point-of-care ultrasound, pediatric emergencies, COVID-19 treatment and triage, and more.

Registration for ACEP21 includes access to the Research Forum’s on-demand virtual poster hall that will spotlight a selection of the findings, and more than 400 original abstracts that will be available on request and published in a special supplement to Annals of Emergency Medicine.

Members of the media are also encouraged to watch the featured courses at ACEP21, including this year’s Research Forum keynote lecture, which will be streaming live and recorded:

“AFFIRMing Our Lane: The Role of Emergency Physicians in Preventing Firearm Injury”

Monday, Oct. 25 | Presented by Megan L. Ranney, MD, MPH, FACEP

As part of the Research Forum, ACEP will recognize award winners for excellence in research, outstanding young investigator, best medical student paper, and best resident paper.
