Hello!
I’ve heard that “off the shelf” wireless dongles have worked on sonosite machines. Anyone out there know of any specific dongles that have worked or are currently working on your machines right now?

At MGH we have a spark LAN 802.11g
Model WL-685R.
Use a USB extender cable so the single doesn't get hit and break your sonosite's USB port!

Sorry to ask such a stupid question, but what is it used for?

it's used to connect the Sonosite to the wireless network of the hospital so upload images and information to be stored on a hospital server. When I set this up Sonosite provided the wireless dongles so i'm not sure if any dongle will work for this... i'm sure there is some security issues that i'm not aware of surrounding off the shelf  dongles....                   Krishnaraj Jayarama

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to increase the number of responses for this.

To that end, please just email me back with (mwbyrne.md@gmail.com):
(1) ultrasound machine make and model (e.g. Sonosite M-Turbo)
(2) wifi adapter or bridge make and model (e.g. SparkLAN WL-685R)

Don't worry about #3 below, that's easy for me to look up.
If you're able to give #4, that's helpful but likely somewhat onerous process for people to figure out.

Again, the idea is to generate a list of compatible wifi adapters that I can then share with the EUS community at large,
so individuals don't have start from scratch every time they're looking into setting up wireless transfer in their EDs.

Thanks,
Mark Byrne
