Has anyone used and can provide feedback on the GE Venue 40 ultrasound system? We are considering purchasing it for the community hospital (Trauma Level 3) that I work in. Thanks in advance.

I just bought one for my residency program.  It is a good workhorse.  Does not come with echo package to do measurements, but does have a cardiac setting.  Vascular imaging and soft tissue/msk is great.  Very small footprint.

I had mine set up with backup thermal scanner when qpath crashes and i need documentation, as well as an arm band scanner to load info from the DICOM patient list.

Hope that helps,

Scott

We use a few for our school curriculum. Image quality is reasonable, it's very easy to use. It requires manually changing of transducers and has pretty limited functionality.

We tend to gravitate to more robust systems for most of what we do. If it was all I had, I would definitely use it, but not my first choice in the ED to do multiple applications.

I hope that helps some,
