Two general solutions exist; upload of images to a PACS(typically a hospital-wide system) or upload to a dedicated point-of-care basedsystem, where the viewing of these images could be limited. While using ahospital-wide system enables viewing of studies by anyone with access to the imagearchival system, there has been historically some concern that hospital-wideaccess could pose a problem during the credentialing and training phase of apoint-of-care ultrasound program (during which other entities may criticize thequality of the point-of-care exams).
