We have made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person EMBRS workshop, scheduled to take place April 14-16.
Like all of you, we have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and its repercussions across the world. Your health is our top priority, and at the same time, you are the most valuable human resource on the front lines of this pandemic. Canceling the in-person component of this course allows you to focus on what’s most important right now: caring for your patients.
We are currently determining the feasibility of holding the course as a virtual option. We want to take our workshop online and continue to help one another by sharing knowledge and lessons learned. We will let you know about the viability of this option by tomorrow afternoon (3/13/2020).
Are you interested in increasing and improving research in emergency medicine?
As a national emergency medicine organization, we understand the importance of increasing and improving research in our specialty. EMBRS does this by encouraging and mentoring young researchers, fostering and supporting research projects that contribute to improvements in patient care, and by developing and increasing the number of emergency medicine researchers.
The EMBRS workshop is specifically designed to help you hone and improve your research skills or program. This is a great course for young faculty, those interested in improving their skills as a researcher, and physicians who are involved in research as part of their duties. Participants are also eligible to receive an EMF/EMBRS grant based on their research grant application.

EMBRS is a 9-day, 2-session program. The first session is held in the fall/winter and the second session is held in the spring. You must complete the Fall/Winter session before attending the Spring session. This program provides a broad overview of the basics of research from idea to IRB approval to final presentation and publication. Participants will learn how to identify clinical research opportunities and become familiar with clinical research and outcomes, injury prevention, health care delivery and effectiveness research. Also, the course includes an introduction to statistics and statistical software and sessions on publishing and presenting your research.
These materials are designed to be used in your own institution to guide your personal research projects and to help you mentor young investigators.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies for the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education. The American College of Emergency Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Registration is limited. Classes fill rapidly on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will be contacted as soon as a slot is available. Course dates are set approximately a year in advance. Your registration fee covers the entire cost of the 9-day, two-session, program as well as lunches during the day. Other living expenses are not included.

Full conference registration, less the $500 cancellation fee, is refundable only if submitted in writing to email@example.com 30 days prior to the beginning of the conference. Registrations and cancellations received after the 30-day deadline are not refundable. Exceptions will be made for family emergencies and must be submitted in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org. For these instances the full conference registration fee, less the $500 admin fee, will be refunded. You cannot reinstate a registration after you cancel. If you cancel and are entitled to a refund, expect the refund within 30 days. All refunds will be issued back to the original payment type. All registrants must be prepaid 60 days prior to the course.
