Both Iowa ACEP staff and individual members have worked to form relationships on a state level, resulting in open communication, increased visibility, and inclusion with agencies and organizations such as the Iowa Department of Public Health, EMS Bureau, Iowa Hospital Association, and Iowa State Medical Society, along with the medical colleges at the University of Iowa and Des Moines University. Iowa ACEP played an important role in the needs study which lead to the development of the emergency medicine residency training program at the University of Iowa.
