Florida College of Emergency Physicians
Who is FCEP?
The Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) is a progressive Emergency Medicine organization in Florida that represents your interests in the legislative and regulatory arenas to promote and deliver quality care to your patients. We work to protect you and your patients through education and advocacy programs focused on the clinical, business, regulatory and professional aspects of emergency medicine.
The FCEP Board of Directors and Committee Members are a diverse group of practicing emergency physicians with representatives from academicians to community hospital physicians, medical students, residents throughout Florida, which gives us strength to pursue our common goal of protecting and promoting Florida's emergency and trauma care system.
Protecting You and Emergency Medicine
FCEP stays on top of important legislation, monitors existing legislation, and takes a stand on new legislation to protect you and your patients. FCEP has contracted with Toni Large, one of the most reputable health care law experts in the state, to advocate emergency medicine issues on your behalf. FCEP physicians serve as "Key Contacts" working with state legislators and regulators.
FCEP has a demonstrated track record of representing emergency physicians' interest within the legislative and regulatory arena in Tallahassee.
FCEP has developed important relationships with key stakeholders throughout the House and Senate and with important regulatory agencies and organizations, such as the Florida Department of Health (FDOH), the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), the Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR), the Florida Hospital Association (FHA), and the Florida Medical Association (FMA) - to name a few. These relationships bring FCEP to the table and allow for open communication, increased visibility, and inclusion in decision-making process.
There are so many benefits for members, including free registration to Symposium by the Sea, FCEP's annual meeting, held at one of Florida's gorgeous beach resorts, which offers educational courses, competitions, networking, and more.
Members also receive free registration to Emergency Medicine (EM) Days, where emergency physicians, residents and medical students meet with policymakers on key emergency and trauma care issues during Legislative Session at the Capitol.
And we offer many free educational programs and CME opportunities through the Florida Emergency Medicine Foundation (FEMF), our sister organization. Read More.
