One of the important values of NJACEP membership is having your interests represented in Trenton. As a strong, unified professional organization we have taken many steps to empower emergency physicians and
protect our patients. NJ-ACEP has contracted with B. Lynch Associates, one of the most reputable lobbying groups in the State, to keep up with the thousands of bills introduced in Trenton and to introduce some of our own. Some of our ongoing activities include:
- Medical Liability Reform
- DNR Guidelines
- Designated Stroke Centers
Both NJ-ACEP staff and individual members have worked to form relationships on a State level, resulting in open communication, increased visibility, and inclusion with agencies and organizations such as the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, Medicaid, Department of Banking and Insurance, the New Jersey Legislature, the New Jersey Hospital Association, and the Medical Society of New Jersey and the many physician specialty societies.
NJ-ACEP is committed to protect the longevity and future of individual physicians, our patients, and emergency medicine as a specialty. This includes involvement in education of medical students, residents, emergency physicians, our patients, and the general public. We promote policies that preserve the integrity and independence of emergency medical practice. We support emergency physician representation within medical organizations and academic institutions. NJ-ACEP represents the interest of all New Jersey emergency physicians.
